Physician Assistants / Clinical Assistants Testimonials

Welcome to our Physician and Clinical Assistant testimonials page! We hope you take a moment to read through the different testimonials to learn why they have chosen Manitoba to practice in and what makes them stay here...

Jaymie Allen, Physician Assistant
Winkler MB, Southern Health-Santé Sud

Jaymie was born and raised in Kenora, ON. She finished a HBSc at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, ON and continued on to complete her MPAS at the University of Manitoba.

Upon graduation Jaymie had several career opportunities and in the end chose Winkler, Manitoba.

"I chose Winkler for many reasons:
it's a relatively small community and I knew that I didn't want to raise a family in a large city, it's a short drive to Winnipeg for retail therapy and Jets or Bomber games and because of my colleagues and the staff at the clinic.

The community and clinic have been very welcoming which has made the transition into practice much easier than it could have been."

“I love the diversity of my practice in
rural Manitoba.”

Jamie Allen

Jaymie has been in her position for three years. During that time her practice has expanded from primarily seeing patients in clinic and performing small office procedures (ex. skin biopsies, IUD insertions) to also including seeing hospital inpatients and assisting in the operating room.

Having a practice in rural Manitoba allows Jaymie to have a varied practice with OR assisting and providing patient care in hospital and clinic. She is also fortunate to work alongside amazing colleagues and have direct access to Orthopedic, General Surgical and Internal Medicine specialists. Her clinic has many additional care providers, including Dietitians, Respiratory Therapist, Clinic Pharmacist, Diabetic nurses and a NP, which allows for a compressive and interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
