Manitoba Health Care Provider Network
Wins Award for Rotary Career Fair Booth

The Manitoba Health Care Provider Network in partnership with the five Manitoba regional health authorities sponsored a booth promoting careers in health care in the annual Rotary Career Symposium held April 16 – 18, 2018.  The booth provided an opportunity for students to engage in several hands-on activities related to heath care careers.

These activities included:

  • EMS station staffed by paramedics with training mannequins

  • A suturing station staffed by medical student volunteers

  • A station on hand washing/infection control

  • An area with an x-ray table and a variety of interesting x-rays

  • A screen showing reality surgery videos and an education station

Rotary Career Fair Award 2018

Students could examine various anatomical models and obtain detailed information on more than forty health care careers.  The booth was judged by a panel of participants to be the “most engaging, interactive, entertaining large booth exhibit” of the 2018 symposium.

The Manitoba Health Care Provider Network and its RHA partners participate in both large and small scale career events throughout the province.  With ongoing needs for health care workers of all kinds it is important to maintain the profile of these opportunities and inform our future workforce of the need and diversity of career in health care.
